Spills

2006 ML500 2nd generation

just an FYI. Had a pop spill from back seat cup holder. Fell into passenger side floor board. Spilled about 16 oz of pop with a carpeted Mercedes mat & a small rubber mat on top of that. Fried some major module under carpet underneath front passenger seat. This also managed to fry my driver rear window motor too. $1400 repair + tow. If you have kids or people in your back seat a lot I suggest putting in a weather tech floor mat or a larger rubber mat that will hold any liquids spilled.

Yes along with the main computer module. They now have covers. Still strange that 16 oz of liquid would soak through the rubber mat, Benz carpeted floor mat & the floor carpeting in a matter of minutes.

This is why car owners in England (and Europe in general) are mystified by the popularity of cup holders.

Nobody I know will uses them, for the same reason that I don't.....they stop you from driving as you want to, that is: hard! I will not have my driving style dictated to me by worrying if I'll spill the coffee...

You need a drink, stop and buy one. That way, he manufacturers might actually give us back all that wasted space in the interior!
