Glow plug issue

This is from Carly for Mercedes

ME - Motor/Engine Electronics (MB: 0034466640):
- : Sorry, there is no explanation available
- Code: OBD 03 P0671
- : Sorry, there is no explanation available
- Code: OBD 07 P0671
- : Fault: The control unit has an internal fault. / Fault: Glow plug Cylinder 1 1 FAULTY 2 Short circuit to ground 4 Open circuit 8 Excess temperature
- Code: 002133

Anyone know what the fault means? I assume it means the glow plug itself is bad and needs to be replaced. This vehicle has 141k miles on it so, of course, prefer to try to fix things myself.

Vehicle runs fine, starts fine, just get a glow plug alert every start.
