Thanks for the tip. I am able to fix the issue with 3.9K OHM resistors.

what's the OBD code for pinch strip error?

mine also opens very strongly but won't respond at all when closing, but I can manually push it down and it will latch.
highly suspect its the sensor but this is what my reader shows:

can you post a picture of what it looked like after connected the resistors?

 

I was able to fix mine also with the resistors. Only issue now is that the trunk doesn’t stop closing if it feels an obstruction.
At some point I’ll change the actual sensor but for now this will do.
