Tansmission Speed Sensor P2767 & 2768
Hi Guys
My 2006 ML 320 Cdi stuck in one gear twice now, when I reset the car by switching of open door and restart its fine again.
My friend Google tell me its a common problem but I cant find any reference to it on this forum.
The replacement part 000 270 26 00 is quite expensive at ZAR13500 = $1000.
I found these recon units https://www.partsdiscounters.com/oem...t-000270260080 does anyone here have any experience with it?
Any other advice would be apreciated.
Kind regards

Your codes & problem relate to faulty speed sensors which are part of the conductor plate (green in diagram).
Only Merc. can replace this and it will not be sold to you. You've got and expensive problem on your hands.

I had the same issue, and I have a friend who told me about a special tool you can use to replace the two sensors on the conductor plate. Since the sensors themselves are not keyed to the VIN, this does not have to be done in a shop. I do not know if you need to pull the valve body to get at the conductor plate, but I know it is in the transmission so be prepared to lift up your truck and have MB transmission fluid ready to pump back in after. The job does not sound fun, but with a lift I don't think it would be that difficult. A $250 fix is a heckuva lot better than a $3000 fix! Also, I hear these transmissions are QUITE finicky when it comes to the amount of transmission fluid they have in them. Just a little low and you will get these codes. Hope that helps someone!
