I have a 2006 ML 350 with 132k miles. About once or twice a day, while traveling freeway or streets the car suddenly shuts off, all of the dash warnings come on, large shudder, then the car immediately restarts ( I assume compression), and goes on its merry way. At times the ESP warning will stay on, resets after restarting car manually. Occasionally the car will die when at a stop sign . It will restart in two or three tries. Again, no codes. FYI, the engine light has been illuminated with the dreaded cam timing light, which will reset, but come back on after a couple of miles. I know I need a crank gear and such, cannot afford it right now.
