Horizontal Lines/Dimming on NAV Screen
Has anyone seen this before? Horizontal lines on the NAV screen, along with signficant dimming. The screen was darker previously, but has gotten lighter and lighter.
I took out the unit last week and checked all of the wires, which seemed tightly plugged into the back of the unit. So I am assuming the screen is shot. We have an appt. at the dealership this weekend (my 2010 ML350 is out of warranty, so it will cost $150 for the diagnostic!), but I've seen advertisements by repair places to fix the screen for about $400.
Any suggestions? I assume the dealership will tell me the unit must be replaced or cannot be repaired (or that they do not do those repairs), and try to charge me for a new unit. Would love to fix it myself.

I had the same problem, head over to ebay and there are several sellers that have the LTA065B0F0F screen avail for ~$100. I bought the cheapest one with best offer for $101, took a week or so to arrive. There are instructions online, and its pretty easy.
