Putting in a second hand transmission
I have 2 ML320 (both 2006 - one April, one May)
Both the cars (mine and wifes) have a heap of km on them and I have been offered a motor/transmission/transfer off a December 2005 car for a good price. also ML320cdi
One of my cars has a weird change in the tranny and I was wondering if I bought this used one if it would be a huge issue to install and program it. I have the VIN of both cars
The seller of the motor and tranny tells me the car only had 45000 km on it. I have found out the car was written off (rear end hit) was written off in Feb 2009 - so it was only on road for 3 years - so 45,000km could be right. Unfortunately there is no instrument cluster-to confirm the km. The turbo has no play, and the transfer case is very tight from front to back with Tranny in park, but beyond that it is hard to gauge wear.
I have engine numbers/Vins but wasn't sure if that would confuse issue.
