Door Lock Dead
On my 2010 ML550 the front door lock is dead. The plunger wont go up and down. It's keyless go btw.
There is no machine gun sound like others have had to deal with and got it fixed with the spring repair kit.
Mine just died.
Now I'm trying to avoid the crazy cost for replacing the actuator assembly. Some guys I read replaced them and it didn't fix their problem.
This guy had the same problem and solved it. But I was hoping to find more details on how to get to the motor.

Does anyone know where the fuses for the lock assembly are located? Could it be a fuse?
Thanks guys.

Well I replaced the lock with a new one and all is good.
As for the link I posted in my first post.
THERE IS NO WAY you can open the existing lick mechanism without breaking the casing and releasing all the spring loaded parts.

Glad you got it sorted.
I too have Keyless Go and have had to replace both front door locks. Like you I didn't relish the thought of cutting open the lock to gain access to the motor, which is typically what fails.
There is a European company that recondition the door locks without damaging the casing and they sell just the actuator rather than the whole door lock assembly to save money. The standard locks are £37 and ones with Keyless Go (7 pin connector) are £54 and come with a 1 year guarantee.
If you're comfortable with removing the door lock from the door yourself then this option is well worth it.
