2010 w164 ML350 LED tail light problem
Hi
I have a problem with my rear Tail light.
my truck is an 2010 ML-350 Bluethech, and i have the *Brake lamp right, alarm in the dash, and some times the same alarm for the left one.
I find the thread for the repair kit : 164 826 00 07 , and buy the parts. But surprise , my tail light are not the same.
Mine are led light, with 2 incandescent bulb (t8 18w) for the brake, and 1 incandescent bulb for the back light.(socket are wireless quarter turn removable)
I does not find those on oem MB parts, but after some research i find that they are MB :1649064500 (maybe an option)
the problem i have is : the right brake light does not glow anymore when i brake (but lamp are good)
and the left brake light stay on as soon as i open the light ???
I try to change the bulb, it works for five minutes then same things,
It seems to me that its a kind of ground problem or something
like that.
any idea what can cause that ?
any know repair kit for those ?

If it works when you replace the bulbs and then doesn't then I think you have two scenarios you should look into.
1) The original LED tails leak. Once water gets into them they go haywire. I took mine off. Should them around and got lots of water out of them. Then put them in the stove to evaporate what was left in them. 10 at low temp should do it. Then I took clear silicone around the edges where the gray plastic from the back meets the external lens to seal things off.
This worked for me and saved lots of cash cause each taillight costs $600.
2) If that doesn't work then it might be the rear sam. Moisture or water may have gotten to it and is acting up.
