Mechanic (or Battery knowledgeable people) advice needed!

Hello fellow MB lovers,

Vehicle: 2006 ML500

Note: The car was driven 30 minutes to the dealership

I had my battery tested yesterday and the readout was as follows:

FAST CHARGE

Voltage: 12.360
Rated: 950 A(EN)
Capacity: 90 AH
Temperature: 28 degrees C

Vehicle Type: Car/Van
Location: In Vehicle
Battery Type: VRLA

The dealership told me that I needed a new battery, but I want a second opinion before dropping money on a new batteries.

Any help would be appreciated

Well Biff are you trying to snow us, as typically the test will show the rated values then provide the actual values--what are the actual values, then do a post update

That is the printed readout that the service agent at the dealership gave me, thats the only info that was on the paper and the only info I have.

I have been working on cars enough to know a lot of times even if a battery bench tests fine if it is older than a few years it is probably time for a replacement. Mercedes batteries should last longer, closer to 4-5 years because they are higher quality. Auto parts store batteries are cheaper quality and I usually only trust them 2-3 years.

How old is your battery? I would go ahead and replace both the auxiliary and the main battery for peace of mind if your current battery is OEM and older than 4-5 years or otherwise if you don't know how old it is.
