spark plug help
accidentally posted in wrong forum. please forgive....
i changed my wife's spark plugs on her 2008 ml350 at 108K mi.. I used the bosch platinum ones.
i did not disconnect the negative battery terminal.
I did them one at a time on the driver side, then on the passenger side i took all three out, then put all three in.
i figured i had the intake hoses maybe not on perfectly. i have checked them repeatedly and cant get the CEL to go off. is the engine cover sensitive to how you put it on? I notice some sort of vent in the middle up near the windshield. after the light came on i disconnected the battery negative terminal for about 30 seconds....nothing.
i have a scanner on my diesel truck, so i will eventually hook it up, but this seems like it should be an easy fix. i know i maybe didnt do the steps 100% correctly (battery, order of plugs), but is that going to be a deal breaker?
let me know what you think. thanks

If you have a scanner, posting the code will help as well.

I can't see how you could have made a mistake installing six plugs.
Fuel trim codes on both banks are usually caused by a vacuum leak or a problem with the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Code P2006 refers to a short in the Air Intake Manifold Sensor which is built into and part of the MAF Sensor.
Did you remove the MAF for any reason?

Angry, miserable, whatever the adjective is. I realize it was the wrong forum and quickly posted in the correct one, if you read the OP.
The duramax folks are much more helpful and glad to do it. Heaven forbid somebody drop a question in the wrong sub forum. No I did not touch the MAF
