2008 ML-320 CDI Alternator
Well the bearing in my alternator is whining like crazy only a matter of time before I'm on the side of the road. I need recommendations I looked on Amazon which only shows two options while I don't want the cheapest thing out there I don't want to spend 1,000.00 on one either and with 175,000 miles on it I'm wondering if I should go ahead and replace the water pump while I have the whole things apart also have some oil seapage so I'll be tackling that is well.
Looking for suggestions and recommendations. Thank you.
P.S. Apparently this vehicle lists 2 different alternators depending on chassis number one is 180a the other is 220a both have different connectors so depending when vehicle came off line depends on which is has. I know that mine has the 180a the question is now is the 220a an upgrade or do I stick with apples to apples?

As it truns out
Only the pulley needs to be replaced its called a dcoupler pulley requires a special tool the one on the water pump can be replaced independently as well.
