2008 W164 Intermittent Command unit

Every so often the command unit in my 2008 ML350 cuts out, so no radio, Bluetooth, nav, etc. After some down time, like overnight, it'll start working again. My mech says that it's a problem with the rear SAM but it seems that the other functions that the rear SAM controls, rear lift gate, taillights, door locks, etc. all work fine. Any thoughts?

Have you read any fault codes stored in the car's computer to see what it might say about this? You'll need to take it to a dealer or independent shop with a Star Diagnosis computer, or
get yourself a scanner that understands Mercedes codes, like this one get yourself a scanner that understands Mercedes codes, like this one

Also, update your profile with your VIN and where you live. Makes a difference, as not all cars are the same, and US/Canada comand units are different and incompatible with those elsewhere in the world.
