oil level monitoring

Is there a way to monitor the oil level electronically for a 2008 ml320? It does not show up in the menu for pushing the reset three times. Is there a scan tool that would be an alternative to having to check it on the dip stick? The dip sticks are hard to read when the oil is new!

Usually after few days of driving oil darkens enough to see it clearly on dipstick.
As far as I know the only sensor looking at oil level is the low oil sensor.

Sensor

the ml350 has what appeared to be the same sensor in the oil pan and you can go into the secret menu and read the level from it on the steering wheel screen. You would think the diesel would have the same option!

When Mercedes eliminated dipsticks on early 2000 models, owners rebelled. Dipsticks are back.

This feature is only available with an ML500.

Buy a dipstick from the dealer for your year and model.
