Charge air temp sensor
After driving for a while today the dreadfull Check Engine light light came on.
The error code is 11FB00.
„The signal voltage of component B17/8 (Charge air temperature sensor) is too high.”
I would appreciate help in fixing it ie. location, removal and replacement (or cleaning?), reason for the problem....

Here is the procedure to remove the sensor.
See if you can check for values with your scanner. If not just replace the sensor with new seal.

Thank you. I found the sensor. Seems that it could be removed without removing other parts. Would it make sense to just clean it? or should I replace it?
I will have time next week to do it.
Anything I should know before pulling it out ie. something in the way, easily broken etc.?

Cleared. Returns after while. Seems to be random. Lenght of drive does not affect it.
My feeling is that it returns after driving, stoping for some time and then driving again on a really hot day.
That’s just a guess. It has been only three times that it appeared.
Could wrong grade (thick) oil be the cause?.
I am running on 5W20.
Just pokin blind here....

Call the parts dept. at any dealer and ask him what the oil sheet number is for your truck. Then post back with the sheet # and I will provide the correct oil you must use.
