If the charge level is up to specs, it could be a failing suction fan. The compressor will be shut down if the cooling fan is not working properly.

Run the eng. until it reaches 80C and note the speed of the fan. Then turn on the A/C, wait a min. and note the fan speed as it should spin at max. high speed.

The fan seems to be working fine as the speed pretty much doubles when the A/C is on. I took the car to the local mechanic this morning and had him check with gauges and run it on the computer. ..i'll pay some pics. The first pic shows the gauges as the car is parked and holding the throttle at 3k rpms. The second pic shows the codes that were pulled. He ended up adding about 1.5lbs of freeon but the car wasn't getting cold. He said that he feels I need a new compressor and something else (long Co2 looking thing in the front of the radiator) not the condenser. What do you guys think?

Grab yourself a scanner that can make some sense of MB codes. I have an iCarsoft MB-II, which wasn't massively expensive and quickly paid for itself by at least giving me a clue where to look. Rather than letting some dealer just fire the parts cannon at it.

They are legit M/B codes (look for highlighted codes in PDF), one of which was caused by performing the "reset trick" you found on-line. Heep doing these tricks and you might have more expensive problems.

Did the mech. clear the existing codes?

Think about getting you own
scanner scanner
, sooner that later.

Oh geez! Well there goes me trying any trick I find online again. I'm assuming the 9803 code was caused by the "reset trick" I was attempting. What does the 9602 code mean? And yes the mechanic said he cleared the codes. I guess I will have to look into getting a scanner since both my 06 E55 and my wife's ML are getting older and up in miles 😕.

When you get the scanner, read all codes in every module, note the module that the codes were set in. Then delete all and recheck for codes.

Does anyone know what the one code is at least since the other is my fault?

Also what is the best scanner for the money and do you have to have a computer in order to use it? Im in the process of getting a laptop (I've used my smart phone for everything).

And if I do need a new compressor and such, what do you guys think of these?

I don't know directly, but I am pretty sure it is connected to the other code. You probably damaged the AAC Control Module.

2010 ml350 AC problem

My 2010 ml350 blew cold air last week. In a sudden, it started to blow very little cold air. I added some freon and it started to blow hot air and the fan was screaming very loud. Please tell me how to fix it. Thank you so much.
