Changed Key Battery

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the board and have a key FOB question. After a couple weeks my ML said to change the key battery. So I did and it continued to work for about a week then the light started coming up again. I thought maybe I got a dud battery so I changed it again and it only worked for a couple days, then the notification started coming up again. I checked to make sure the other FOB didn't have a dead battery (it's always with my wife in her bag which would be in the ML at the same time). Nope, it was fine. Changed my battery again only this time the notification won't go away at all. 2 days later my wifes FOB is doing the same thing. Both key FOBs have new batteries and the notification won't go away. ??? It starts through KEYLESSGO and remote locks and unlocks from the house fine. Even unlocks from the door handle. WTH??

Any ideas??
Thanks

What does the message say, exactly?

"Change key batteries" which I've done 3 times. The batteries are good name brand and I've tested them as well and are full voltage.

You can check the quality of the batteries by pressing the lock or unlock button and see if the RED illuminates.

Like I said, batteries are good. It seems after I forgot my keys in the ML overnight the notification had disappeared. Is that weird or expected??
