With increasing frequency, the back-up camera in my 2009 ML350 is not working. That is, when i back-up, the monitor is mostly black with lots of visual noise (hard to describe in words). Sometimes it works fine. Thoughts on fixes, short of replacing the whole unit to 1000s of $$?

 

There's no use in guessing. The codes must be read.

Battery on my ML350 was completely drained the other day, I recharged it then noticed the backup camera is inoperative, screen doesn't change at all when in reverse. The car radio volume doesn't work and the radio doesn't shut off when FOB is removed and the driver's door is opened. I did the scan and it returned saying that it cannot communicate with exactly those components. Checked the fuses under the hood and they were all ok.
