W164 wheel carrier stuck
Hi, I have 2009 ML 320CDI with the optional extra off road package rear wheel carrier option
This is the 2nd time it has become stuck. It does not want to open. I thought it could be because of travelling on gravel roads and due to dust build up, I did wash the larch area as well as I could with water but to no avail. Any solutions? I stay in RSA, regards, Duan

Post you full vin# and explain this wheel carrier that won't open???????????? Are you referring to the spare tire carrier?

OP apparently lives outside USA and has rear mounted spare tire carrier. This option never available in USA as same safety regulations regarding a person being locked in the trunk apply.
