Exclamation 2047 error on a ML 350 CDI 2009/2010

Hi,

Last week I went on a short trip when at first I noticed a power drop and the CEL was on.

I returned home and with the use of an Icarsoft MB II, the following error appeared:

2047 - Rail pressure monitoring via volume control valve- The rail pressure is too low

If the error is cleared, the car returns to work well. But when it accelerates hard and goes from 2600 RPM, the CEL light comes on, the error returns and the car again shows a lack of power. (Limp mode?)

All filters were changed to 8,000 km.

The car is a ML 350 2009/2010 CDI - WDC 1641221A546826, and is with 142,000 km.

Any suggestions on what should be checked?

You should check or maybe replace Y94, Quantity Control Valve. I cannot supply you with a part number as EPC uses multiple names for the same part. Visit to the dealer might be necessary.

Just leaving an feedback on problem resolution:

My mechanic noted that the inlet hose in the fuel filter was deformed and wider than the outlet hose. This suggested that there was excess pressure at the intake but that there was little pressure at the outlet of the filter, which indicated that the fuel filter was clogged.

We changed the filter by a new one and the problem was solved.

It remains only to find out why the filter was so dirty.
