Right Rear Door not opening, unlocking electrically or manually..
When I purchased my 2006 ML500 I was aware of the right rear door not unlocking electrically. It wasn't an issue as we don't use the door much and it was on my list of things to dig into at a later date. If it was needed we could always reach around and manually pull the knob up and open the door.
Yesterday was one of those days where we needed to open the door. Pulled the knob up and nothing from either the inside or outside handles. Tried pushing and pulling the knob up and down several times with no difference in outcome. I do have a code for the motor either being open or shorted, but like I said, that was a known.
Any suggestions on how to get the door open so that I can get inside and see why I am no longer able to unlock the door with the manual knob, let alone address the lock motor issue.

The only alternative you have it to remove the door lining. If the seat causes an access problem, then you will have to remove it also.
Use the 164.8 guide as they do not give instructions for any other model.
