P0442 Evaporative Emissions Control System Leak Detected (small leak)
The next morning (today) my wife says while sitting at a stop light not far from the house, she thinks she smells gasoline. A/C was on, but not on recirculate. She the turned the A/C off for the remainder of the trip to work and noted that she didn't see the smell anymore. I presume my next things to check will be the purge valve, but her saying she smelled fuel has me worried. Is it possible a fuel pump/sender unit could be leaking/venting into the cabin?
If there was fuel fumes in the cabin I can't imagine a leaking charcoal canister would be the culprit. However a leaking/failed purge valve or connection is pretty close to the cabin air filter inlet, so that would make more sense to check first. Any advice is welcome.
