Climate control malfunctionontrol is operating normally, in the A/C
Truck is an '08 ML320, 150K miles.
When I shut the engine off, the Climate Control is acting normally, in the A/C mode. (I'm in Florida) But the Auto light is not lit, in the control knob.
When I next start it, all the red lights in the center are lit up, and the fan is on high. The Auto button is not lit. To turn down the fan (and the red lights) I press the Auto button. The A/C goes back to operating normally, but the Auto button is not lit. If I press the "OFF" button, all the red lights come back on, and the fan speed goes to max.
So there're two modes:
(1) Press "Auto", A/C works normally, but the "Auto" button is not lit.
(2) Press "OFF", fan goes to Max, all the red lights are lit. This is also the mode when the vehicle is first started.
Is this a problem resulting from a failed blower motor controller?

MBWorld Fanatic!
Yes it is probably the blower motor. Remove the cover under the right side of the instrument panel and check to see if there is water damage.
