The pixel display must be replaced. The video is for a W169 but it is all the same. And removing the cluster is very easy.

I did it over a year ago and it works perfectly. New screen came from Italy I think ( bought it on eBay )
Took me an hour including removal and reinstall of the cluster.
The issue is called "pink shrimp" .. using that term may help if you're trying to google fixes.
But the video that Maj Dundee posted is almost exactly the same as what I did. Just order the part, pull your cluster, and do what is shown in the video. Easy and simple fix just be careful and take your time.

YOU CAN FIND LCD REPLACEMENT
I bought one and it is easy to install, must still do it but received the LCD from China nthat looks perfect. To remove the complete instrument cluster seems easy, also google that. Just two clips to unclip.
