'06 ML350 first time very difficult start
This '06 ML350 has never missed a beat in 95,000 miles but this morning it was extremely difficult to start. It turned over just like normal but it wouldn't fire after a dozen or more attempts. It finally started and ran normally. When it did finally start it produced a pretty noticeable cloud of dark smoke from the exhaust as if it had been flooded. Is there a start enrichment valve in this injection system that could have malfunctioned, i.e. stuck in the initial start position? Any other ideas?
I am on my second used GL450 and I have never experienced a problem like this on any of our cars.
