2010 ML350 BlueTec 4Matic Transmission troubles
Hello folks, So am driving at highway speed 120-30km... vehicle slows down and i push the accelerator, gradually all the way down to the floor... car still slows.. transmission doesn't shift?.. coming off the ramp its upshifts.... and all seems well... i pull over, shift into park and turn engine off... few seconds turn it back on and shift into drive.. ENGINE LIGHT comes on -... Later that day took it to "Joes" mechanic shop for diagnosis.. an hour or so later he tells me I need a FULL transmission service... and a sensor replaced..... cost cdn $1500/- approximately..... truck has 173K and transmission fluid was replaced around 50-60k ago..
I am pretty handy with tools and do most of my small repair/replace...transmission service i can handle courtesy of my stint as a Lube Tech at Mr. Lube. Trouble is I dont have an ODB reader and dont know WHICH/WHAT sensor needs replacing.... any thoughts suggestions?..
I love my Truck... but is getting really hard to keep the romance going... it seems like every few months something major needs replacing, from Intake manifolds to EIS ignition module, glow plug module, add blue heater, tail lamps, glow plugs..... feeling dejected!..

Insurer, I have no knowledge of that scanner. I can only assure you the the Autel scanner I recommended will show you the correct M/B code numbers.
