TPMS frequency?

TPMS light started nagging me in IC but message said TPMS is active. It was time to get new tires anyway so I sported down to Discount Tire & bought some new Michelin defenders & replacement wheel sensors. The dash light was still on after replacement but message in IC changed to say TPMS inactive, no wheel sensors. Salesman said it will disappear after several miles so I drove it for a couple hundred miles but no change so went back to Discount Tire & they swapped out the 315 mHz sensors for 433 mHz sensors. The message changed to TPMS inactive but 'no wheel sensors' disappeared so I believe it's at least detecting these sensors but won't reset. I'll scan in DAS next but curious to know if anybody can tell me officially what frequency MB OEM sensors broadcast on? Thanks in advance for any & all replies.

TPMS sensors for our vehicles are 433 mHz.

Did you have Discount Tire test each of the TPMS sensors?

They tested them with their hand-held generic scanner but installed 315 mHz sensors initially so hopefully messages will go away now that 433 sensors are there. Driving last night, a RED IC warning came up w/ a loud beep about tire pressure which gave me flashbacks to SBC failure in a W211 I used to drive so was expecting limp-mode to ensue any second. Luckily, w164 red screen turned out to be a paper tiger that I was able to scroll off of & return to normal display w/ steering wheel & most importantly keep driving w/o interruption & get to my destination unimpeded.
EDIT: Well after DAS session, I cleared fault memory of TPS control unit which had STORED DTC D131 - Component N88 (TPM [RDK] control unit) has not recognized all wheel electronics .... but can't seem to clear Event memory of TPS which is displaying CURRENT & STORED DTC 9130 - No wheel sensors detected ...
Reviewing TPC's complete list of guided tests, I went down the "Remedial action if the wheel sensors are not detected' path to the point where it said one of 3 reasons could be due to sensors of a different manufacturer. They should all be 433 mHz VDO Siemens TPMS according to receipt. It was getting too hot outside so I wrapped up my DAS interrogation until later tonight but I'm suspecting I will have to teach-in these sensors individually by adding air to each as DAS listens to sensor chatter to determine which one has delta but hesitant to continue down that path until TPS at least acknowledges there are new sensors present.

TPMS sensors will normally reset within about 10 miles. May want to have Discount Tire contact the manufacturer for guidance.

A look at 2nd receipt indicates VDO Siemens 315 mHz sensors were swapped for Huf Intellisens Universal TPMS 433 mHz sensors so now question becomes what is OEM installed brand used? It would seem Huf Intellisens Universals aren't detectable/discoverable to N88. Is there possibly a way for DAS to wipe N88's memory to restore it to virgin state & make it forget previously stored sensor IDs so it will accept & marry these new ones?
EDIT: FCP Euro answered brand name question - Mercedes Tire Pressure Monitoring System TPMS Sensor (433.92 MHz) - VDO SE58002 are apparently the correct replacements so I will see if DT have those tomorrow.

I think HUF sensors of correct frequency should work fine.

Did you press the R button?

Gentlemen, there are 3 different versions and the way only to distinguish what version you have is by vin#.

Post your vin number for the correct part number. See sample below.

4JGBB22EX7A257187 is my vin#... FCP Euro also carries a Huf sensor apparently - Mercedes Tire Pressure Monitoring System TPMS Sensor (433.92 MHz) - Huf RDE206V21 ... DT installed ones are Huf UV4040 TQ40 Red 433 Intellisens Universal ...so now I'm back to thinking I can maybe teach these in w/ DAS by following work instructions from 'Remedial action if the wheel sensors are not detected'

When I switch between winter and summer tires, I just perform the TPMS reset with the R button. No particular “programming” required.

Initially @ 1st start, the message says "Tire Pressure Monitor Inoperative - wheel sensors are not detected' Reset button has no effect. After a few miles, the message changes to 'Tire pressure monitor inoperative' but again R button has no effect & event memory wont clear 'STORED and CURRENT DTC 9130 - No wheel sensors detected' but Fault memory shows no faults present in DAS. I haven't tried this yet but DAS has a guided work instruction for how to troubleshoot DTC 9130 but I want to make certain 1st that Huf variant installed by DT is compatible w/ N88 variant installed in this vehicle. The N88 might be faulty as well but seemed to be working well prior to buying new tires/wheel sensors as it was reporting itself to be active though also reporting L.O.S. w/ at least one sensor. I don't believe water intrusion through right rear taillight to be a factor as that has been addressed.

Here is the M/B part # that applies to your chassis number. Now you must be careful in that they are of quality and apply to your veh.

What module was the code 9130 stored in?

Thank-you, Maj. Dundeee... looks like those are made by Huf. The code 9130 is STORED & CURRENT in Event memory of TPM but no codes are showing in fault memory. It seems like a strange paradox that TPM is not willing to forget it's OEM sensors & start listening to these new ones. I think it is seeing them after a short drive but choosing to ignore them. s it possible to re-virginize TPM? least I'll be able to go back to Discount Tire armed w/ part# of sensors that should work.

Finally resolution! Discount Tire had neglected to 'activate' 1 of new sensors & that was apparently enough for N88 to declare no wheel sensors detected & render itself inoperative. Soon after activation with handheld, TPM prompted to be reset & is now active & monitoring again with no errors so those Huf Intellisens sensors compatible apparently.
