Lifting ML

Also, can you adjust the front torsion on the w164 like on the w163?
I'm trying to lift my ML320 ~2" to accommodate larger tires to be able to do some over-landing. I've got something I've been working on which should allow for ~2" lift, but am unable to test it because I'm down with a broken foot and can't work on the car...

That is exactly what I am trying to do.
I want to put 255 60 19” (31”) tires but i am affraid i am going to rub.
So far this is the only kit i have found on ebay.
Are you saying there is no way to mount them from the top?
sorry to hear about your foot. Hopefully it heals quick.

I just installed last week 255 60 19 Continental Cross contact LX 20. I went from 245 45 to 255 60. I ordered them at discount tire and called them for a fit test and they were nice enough and tried a tire in the front and no rubbing issues at all. Overall I gained 2” in diameter which gives me a 1” lift. My speedometer is about 6mph off at 60+ mph but i got my passport max that I look for the speed.
Also, I ordered and received spacers on ebay from a company called rising tuning and they look great. I will take pictures when I install them.
Also other projects that I have completed is 6000k bulb upgrade and 6000k led fog lights upgrade along woth new fog lenses, chrome window trim, gloss black a, b, and c pilar covers, and, gloss black front grill.
W166 mirror covers with led flood lights and newer style turn signals.
I also have ordered amg fender flares. When I install those, I will look at probably 20-25 mm spacers to bring the wheels out to run flush with the fender flares.
Will keep you posted once I install the lift spacers.

Finally the lift is installed. Its from ebay- russian company rising tuning and they were very helpful in providing pictures of spacers installed.
i had an indy shop do it while I was giving them instructions and helping on how to remove everything as I had removed the struts on the GL 3 times.
I couldnt be more happier with the results I got. Overall from stock I have gained almost 3” inches and the ML sits slightly higher than the GL on standard height.
I will post some pictures soon.
Below is the measured height after install.

Couple questions for you:
Can you remove non-air strut in front without removing axle?
Will the axles be ok with that steep of an angle? Pics of suspension underside and axles would be great

The axles seem to be just fine and I have no issues whatsoever. I believe there is no difference between suspension components with air suspension and standard spring suspension, thus allowance in raising and lowering should be the same.
I have 30 mm wheel spacers coming so when I install those I will take pics of the procedure.
