2006 ML500 LCD problem
Hi All,
I have a 2006 ML500 (99k miles) and recently the top LCD display between the gauges started flashing in and out. Its mostly black but will flash on quickly and randomly. Is there a fix for this problem or replacement LCDs out there? The bottom LCD is working perfect. Any help is appreciated

It's a pixel problem in the cluster.
You can try and find a company that can repair the cluster but that would require laying up the truck until they return it. Or buy a used one with the same part# and hope for the best.

I might pull it apart myself to see if I can see any burned contacts on the lcd ribbon. I worry about swapping it for another because it has the mileage in it. Or is that stored in the ECU?

The mileage is stored in both the I.C. module and the ECM, but the pixel has nothing to do with mileage.

Yes, you must have a scan tool capable of doing it or a M/B SDS.
You didn't supply the info on cluster that you bought.
Here is the procedure to swap the data.
