So I bought a 2006 ML 550 that was a theft recovery the EIS was ripped from the dash and damaged plugged it in doesn't recognize the key at all ordered a key and switch from eBay what all do I need to do to get this thing rolling again
towing isn't a problem still on my flat bed trailer I found a guy that said I can send him the original eis and the replacement and he can clone it to the new one what do I need to look for a local guy to program it

Great, now you'll just need the matching transmission control unit (inside the transmission) and ISM (shifter) and maybe you'll have a chance it will start and drive. Oh, and the matching radio if you want music. Yep, it's all VIN coded. Did I mention the trans ecu has to be the right part # to match your valve body? If not, you may have shifting issues. Now you'll understand why this ML was such a "good deal" and determined a total loss by the insurance co.

Nothing like throwing money at a problem without researching 1st.
There are people who will swap the surface mount chip with the vehicle specific info
from one EIS to another, but I don't have contact info...look around.
And that's assuming yours is even correct and not fried.
