Driver Seat Peeling

Would appreciate any successful guidance and/or advice with our drivers seat peeling as of last month. No issues with any of the seats in our 2015 ML350 until last month.

a little piece of the seat flaked off and has continued since. Why is this suddenly happening? Has this happened to other ML 350? Has their been a recall that I missed? What should I do as its getting worse. See photos attached.

I had this happen on an old expedition of mine. Is your interior MB Tex or leather? It looks like it's happening from getting into/out of the car just from where it is which is the same thing I had going on. I went to a guy I found online that did interior repair. He took a day and fixed it by using a leather patch type of kit. He matched the color (grey) of my interior and smoothed this stuff on. Once it was done you wouldn't have known it was patched unless you knew to look for it. I was very happy with the repair and it lasted until I at least got rid of the car some 5ish years later or so. My seats were smooth though so I don't know about getting the texture to match but I would start by going to an interior shop. I know they sell kits online for repairing leather but I was hesitant to try buying like a $20-50 kit and doing it myself. All in I spent less than $100 on the patch I think and it was done far better than I could have done it on my first attempt from a kit....

Thank you for your suggestion and advice.

The drivers seat is MB TEK. Any advice with this type of seat?

I think that's easier to fix than if it were the Napa leather. Use yelp/google and look for auto interior places near you and find one that has good reviews. Call them and ask about it to see if they can fix it or have a recommendation on who to use. The whole process will take less than a day for those two spots. After my last reply I did some googling and see that they have texture plates used to match the texture of your seat once the patch is on. A professional will make short work of the repair.

This is a bad Tex MB came out with a wile a go. I try to buy cars that have real leather or i do custom leather interior myself. Few years back i got a 2011 E-350 with this junk MB Tex i got so disappointed, that i got myself a commercial sewing machine and i buy cow hide and just do my own seats.
I dont think there is a way to fix this, you can patch, buy kits, it will never look the same!
Id look for a new replacement, or got my whole interior redone but it is pricy! Plus you have to find someone who does a good job. most places do crappy job. or the cheapest way just get seat covers.
good luck sir!!!
