ML63 Maintenance Cost

07/08/09 ML63 comes to a price point where it seems to be a bargain so I picked up an 07 last year. Lately, I incurred some costs which I didn't see with the ML550 and ML500. Reviewed maintenance costs from previous owner and it looks to be quite high. What are your experiences?

Those prices are absolutely outrageous, is that in USD? 4500, and 5500 for service a and b?!?! $4400 for rear struts? Find a indy mechanic, or learn how to do some of it yourself to save on labor. I've owned my car about a month and decided I would get the 80k maintenance, I was at 76k when I bought it. I normally do stuff myself but I wanted to have them look it over. Turns out they said I needed over 8k worth of stuff, and the list wasn't even that big. They said I needed a new front right strut because I had some clunking, new rear brakes and rear struts, and it quoted 7k+ for just that. I fixed the clunk with tightening the bolts that had been loose when I bought the car, changed the brake pads for $90, and if I need to change the rear struts I can buy it for around $700 for a OEM pair. I think the previous owner got ripped off with those costs, but alot of people have money when they buy these cars, and they just have a Mercedes dealer do everything. And they know that so the owners don't bat a eye at a bill of 5k at one time. My service for 80k was only about $400.

I suppose that's why they call them "stealers"

I had $ in front of the numbers. I don't think those are just labor costs. New parts were used and not re-manufactured. Remember, you need to include next day or 2nd day shipping costs into the part price.
In any case, it shows lots of issues between 70k-100k miles. I didn't see the those issues on one W164 ML550 and two W163 ML500 I owned.
