MPG expectations

I'm considering buying a used M-B SUV, probably a ML 350 or a newer GL 350. I consistently get 26-27 mpg on the hwy when using a steady foot and running 70 mph in my '09 E 350. But what should I expect in mpg with a slightly heavier SUV? under similar driving conditions. (I realize M-Bs are not economy cars, but respectable gas mileage should be attainable.)

@relinuca Gas or diesel? Gasoline MBs do not deliver good fuel economy in my experience. 22.5mpg on the highway is the best I have done with a 3.5L non turbo M276 V6 in a GLE350. The M272 3.5L non turbo gasoline engine will be in the same ballpark.
