Hello everyone. I’m new on here. Having issues with the radio. Cd plays great but Mercedes logo is always on. Radio doesn’t work. Tried the fuse reset and also purchased the optic fiber loop. Jumped the audio box first and radio worked perfectly for about 5 minutes. Then back to same issue. Does the rear Sam have anything to do with the radio? I ask cause the rear Sam was wet

The radio is not controlled by the rear SAM. What did you do about the wet SAM?

Did the radio problem occur before or after the wet SAM?

Is there anything else that is not working in the vehicle?

Do you have a scanner?

Did the load comp. fuse box get wet?

radio issues was there when I purchased the vehicle. The gas gauge stopped working and hatch door opened on its own so that’s what made me check the rear Sam after reading about it. I took the rear Sam out and found water in the compartment. Drained the water/ took Sam apart and cleaned it with contact cleaner and small tooth brush. Everything works great now except the gas gauge and passenger door lock. I don’t have a scanner. Called the dealer but they are 2 months backed up.

Sorry for the delay. The first thing you must do is replace the tail lamp seals as that is the reason why you have water entry.

Explain the problem with the door lock. Try and be precise when stating a problem.......What happens with the door lock and which door, front or rear.

As for the fuel gauge, it is controlled by the fuel level sensor in the tank, to the rear SAM to the Inst. Cluster.

So the problem is with the rear SAM. Post your full vin#.

just replaced tail light seals. Tested and no more water enters. The door lock is front passenger door. It stopped working when I cleaned the rear Sam. Only works manually. My vin is 4JGBB72E78A346293.

Both the front & rear SAMS are linked together by the CAN system and it is very difficult to find out who the boss is. You will have to take another look at the rear SAM again.

If the problem persists try and get a used one with only the part # as per your vin#.

Also, here is a copy of your DATA card with all your features.
