2012 ml 350 roof rack problem !!!
hi all
i have an urgent question. it will likely sound dumb but still requires help. 🙃
i got a new 450 roof rack installed earlier this year and cant seem to get it unlocked ! 🙄
i inserted the key and turned it and tried to lift the lid and nothing. the only instructions are about how to install it.
also theres like a rubber tube or two that came with it that i have no idea what its for.
i think i have the correct key. its a mercedes benz roof box and has mb on it. is there a handle to lift or do you lift while turning the key?
it’s urgent cuz i am moving in a couple days and need to know how to get it open foe the extra storage i need.
embarassing question but all help is appreciated!
thanks everyone

You tube video which shows how an MB luggage carrier opens @ 1:00 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIzIu5RpWn4
Besides that, I agree that you should contact the installer or MB dealer for more guidance.

Chances are the key needs to be turned to unlock the box. This got me thinking - maybe it needs to be pushed in to release a latch maybe? Like old cars' door handles used to be. Not sure, just guessing this. I found interesting the part where he uses both hands to lift the lid. Perhaps there is something about where his hands were... leverage maybe? I would not think to use both hands to lift the lid, I would think that you could just lift with one hand from the center of the lid right above the key, but in his case, he didn't do what I thought was the intuitive way.
