Rear Bumper Chrome Trim Removal

Hey everyone,

I've exhausted the search function as best as I could but couldn't find a clear answer on how best to remove this trim piece.
Some have recommended removing the bumper is mandatory while others mentioned that just the skid plate removal is all that's needed.
I purchased a replacement piece as well just in the off chance that the entire piece can simply be bent/pried off.
Any information would be extremely appreciated.

There is no PDF that I know of to remove this trim. You should remove the rear bumper to have a look see.

Thanks Major, based on the second attachment looks like locknuts underneath.
I'm hoping that just the skidplate and the valance removal will be enough to get me access to the 6 bolts....
Will eventually update once I get a chance to tackle!

I would look at your replacement part first. I added this piece to my GL that didn’t come with it and it’s held on with double sided tape. Back in 2007-8 there was a big thread here on this.
