2007 ML350 sunroof shade panel not sliding back.

Hello all! New to the MB world. Picked up a low mileage 07 ML350. Very little issues.
The sunroof shade panel only moves back and forth with the glass. I tried persuading it (not too forcefully) to slide back to have just the glass showing and it wont budge. Is there a procedure or more force required to unclip it from the glass?!

I don't understand this.....................The glass sunroof sliding panel only moves back and forth with the sunroof.

Read pages 241-244 in your owner's manual, it must be re- synchronized.

And also read pg. 478 for emergency closing.

Re worded the question. Can the panel that sits under the glass be slid back (separately from the actual glass) for extra light in the interior with the sunroof closed.

Is there anything I should be looking for? because its seemingly locked in place. It moves back and forth about an inch and thats all. I have seen others that are clipped in some form or another, unless this one is obstructed somewhere.
