Overlanding with ML w164 320

Hey guys! new in here!

My dad just swap with me his car - a ML w164 with no more than 70k km on it. I always wanted to do some overloading, and i think this is the way to do it!

I have a few questions to ask!

. i have already replace a front airmatic shox. The thing is - i'm afraid to be left in the middle of nowhere with one of those blowed up. therefore i'm thinking to replace all the shox with more spring performing ones. Can this be done?
. after gain some ground clearance with the new shox i'll be adding A/T tyre and 17'' rims, and here is the second question: IF i can't replace the airmatic, what's the max tyre size?
. last one: do anyone know sites where i can find extra "off-roading stuff"?

i will not do extreme off-road, but i want to make the car very reliable and in therm of looking, very aggressive!

thank you guys!

Get a more suitable vehicle. The ML is a "soft-roader" not an off-roader.

This place is a joke.
You can go with ML63 style fender flares, some simulated beadlock wheels with all terrain tires, and a roof rack to complete the look. I've been thinking about it myself, but I don't want to compromise the ride or have wind noise on long highway trips.
