Fuel Control Module
I had some major lung surgery a few years back, and this car has sat for a few years. I bought a new battery and aux battery. I bought an Autel 806 pro scanner, and am able to clear almost all of the codes. The fuel pump does not run, and I have checked all fuses and relays. The relay is getting power and turning on. The scanner however cannot communicate with the FSCU. I have ordered a new fuel pump and filter assembly which will be here in a few days, but I'm worried about the lack of communication with this module. I've disassembled the rear SAM and cleaned it (showed no corrosion). I've cleaned connections with contact cleaner. Can a non-operative fuel pump cause communication issues with the FSCU? The fuel gauges work fine, and I can see live data from those. I'd like to check the FSCU but I cannot find the thing, and I've searched the forums and still been unable to find it. I've checked under both back seats all the way back to the hydraulic unit for the rear door. I'm sorry to ask but I hate to continue to pull out carpet etc. on a wild chase.
Thank you so much for your help
Thanks for the post Maj. Dundee on the scanners. You were correct no way to work on these cars without a good one.
