Door won't open 06 ML350

Door won't open 06 ML350
(Another) issue that just started is that the drivers side (left) rear door won't open from the inside or out.
Don't see any obstructions from inside the car. You pull the handle, nothing happens.
Computer sees door as closed, no error on dash for open door, so it's doesn't appear to be partially closed or anything.
So how can I get the door open?
Chicken and egg scenario. Might be able to get it open if I could get the door panel off, but that can't be
done with the door closed. Any suggestions?

2002 ML 320 & 2006 ML500
To remove the door panel on the left rear door, gain entry from the right rear door and follow instructions to remove the 60% seat. That will give you ample room to remove the left rear panel.

I read an in depth thread about a guy who got the panel off then
ended up removing the rivetted cover and still had no luck.
So many threads where after many posts they still don't get it open and never post the fix.
Well, as you say, 1st step if remove the panel. Gonna be a PIA with the door closed.
