Deleted bluetec oil selection
I've been doing some reading on here and it looks like a lot of the oils originally recommended for the OM642 are low ash to extend particulate life. That oil also has lower zinc content contributing to increased wear in the engine. My question to you folks is what oil are you running on your deleted diesels? I was thinking of running either 0w40 Mobil 1 or something along those lines.

Hi,
I use Fuchs Titan Supersyn Longlife 5w40. My ML has 210.000 Km and never had DPF.
But the temperature where I live rarely is below 13º C.
As we had problems with BioDiesel, I use Actioil 550 sold by Mercedes dealerships with good results.

Thanks for the response!
That's good to know. I live in Ontario and recently drove back from BC with this thing. The temp average of the drive home was -34 Celsius. So I'm thinking the 0w is a good idea. I've had no oil consumption at all so I'm pretty happy with that. Looks like the chains were done around 150k km so I should be okay for a little bit longer.
