ML 320 CDI W164 2006 no glow plug light no crank
Hi guys having problems with my 2006 ML 320 cdi W164 . I will cut the story short : drove to local shop 1 mile or so got back in full ignition lights but no glow plug light and no crank, tried spare key engine started but stopped 15 seconds later AA recovery could not connect to diagnostics so towed me home suspecting EIS . Removed switch had it checked it checked out ok. Main battery fully charged checked all fuses and as many earth straps and engine ground connections that i could find , Noticed the fuel pump wasnt running checked rear fuse and relay box for blown fuse using the cars fuse allocation guide supplied with the car.Now here the strange thing the fuel pump uses a 20 amp fuse in slot no 57 thats there and is good there is also listed slot 53 a 5amp and slot 30 a 40amp 53 and 30 are listed as being FUEL CU . Slot53 has a good fuse but slot 30 does not have a fuse ???? help with this please. Also i was doing a wriggle test on the rear fuse holder and twisting its body whilst my wife turned the ignition glow light came on and it started then cut out again each time i was quite rough with my twisting of the holder it would start and cut out .which has led me to think of a bad connection within ,ive removed the unit and below it is the rear sam ,noticing a puddle of water below the sam ive also removed this both units have been sent for testing. has any body known of a similar problem or why fuse 30 would be missing

Did you check for codes in all modules with a scanner?

1: UK AA breakdown service scanner would not connect
2: UK RAC breakdown service scanner would not connect

Hi All, Facing a weird issue with my ml 350 w164 2011 model. When I try to start the car a strange noise comes and then no crank. sometimes after crank car run for few seconds and shows all error messages on dashboard. After these car wont crank again. Checked all fuses and relays. all look fine. Replaced starter relay. no luck. But the moment i removed negative terminal of the battery and connected back car getting started without any issues. Turned off again and try to start the car. No issues found. But again on next day same issue happens. No crank on poistion 3. Any idea whats going wrong. I tried to scan the vehicle when the car was down. Getting lots of CAN related messages. This been happening from past 2 months. Some time car will run till 1 month without any issues and suddenly same issue comes back. Never faced issue on running. Issue coming after parking the car and try to start it on next day. Need to reset the battery terminals to solve this. Please help. thanks in advance.
