Hello all,

The command wont turn on or off with key on my 08 ML320. It will turn on manually and everything is working except the back up camera. The backup camera wont even activate when put in reverse. Also, command will work only for exactly 30 minutes and then it shuts off. I have to power it back up manually. However, radio, cd, cd changer, nav all work normal.

I have checked all fuses and they are fine. I ran xentry and it shows no fault codes.

One thing though I can not find the back up camera info in xentry. I looked under rear sam, front sam and IC. In fact I looked at all modules and cant find it anywhere.

On xentry, click on Info & Communication, then click on RFK Back Camera to find the codes.

On Info & Communication I get an error message saying it can not find back up camera and command.

Its odd that commands powers up manually and everything works but the backup camera.

In the rear sam, would you be able to show me where it connect if there is a connection at all?

I did a Restart of optical ring and command and backup camera are working again. Something mustve caused the MOST fiberoptic line to break the ring.

Nope. Not at all.

 

Do you own your own scanner ? If so check for codes in all modules.

 

Yes. I do have own das/xentry with c4. I did run a scan on all individual modules and the only codes I get repeatedly is the “fanfare horn” which Ive had a long time issue and cant figure it out and a “lightbulb in rear center console” and i know its due to cheap LEDs I have put in. Other than those two nothing else.

 

Try to re-calibrate the module.
