W164 350 CDI - Mass Air Flow Sensor

Hi All,

Vehicle: 2010 ML350 V6 (w164)

Situation: After removing engine cover to assess Mass Air Flow Sensor (was given fault code using diagnostic tool) I noticed a small amount of oil where the air intake feeds into the turbo. I cannot find a video or thread that demonstrates what I am seeing, and therefore unsure of the best method to root-cause and remedy.

Any reasonsble advice?

It’s normal. That is PCV valve venting into intake. If it’s a leak all over everything, it’s the orange gasket

Thank you. I agree with you that this is the likely cause.

I noticed that there is no fitting or clip fastening this connection, is that correct?

Do you happen to know the part number of the gasket?

No fitting or clip on pcv to intake. Certainly a hose clamp on intake to turbo (where the orange gasket is.)

Engine OM642 - To add further to this discussion, I have had a xentry fault code on the left MAF sensor since 40k km which even after cleaning & swapping the sensors and clearing the code on multiple occasions, and travelling another 100k km, it's the only fault I can't seem to resolve without spending $$ on a new MAF sensor which doesn't make sense given the `swap check.

Any ideas 💡?
