Hi All,
Situation: Turn on vehicle and when drive above ~5km/h the ESP / ABS warnings on dashboard turn on, then a clicking noise is heard briefly across dashboard/firewall, and then front-left brake activates. If continue to drive the brake releases, but the situation is becoming worse.
Impact: SAFETY -Do not have ESP / ABS nor cruisecontrol.
Action: I have read various threads which suggest replacing speed sensors. I have replaced the front-left which has not remedied the issue. I am about to embark on replacing ALL speed sensors, but keen to learn if anyone has had this exact issue and what there remedies were.

Multiple posts here and the x164 forum all lead to the same answer. Faulty wheel speed sensor(s) and/or faulty wheel bearings especially if the car lives in the rust belt. Scan for codes, and only use new OEM sensors.
Thanks for the efficient feedback.
Additional Information: Car does NOT live in a salty or rust prone environment. Lives in garage in Melbourne, AUS and only has 50k miles (80k Km)
I will provide updates on my sitiuation.

UPDATE
Action:
- Took of each wheel and replaced all x4 wheel speed sensors. Cost = $56 AUD
- Job took about 1.5 hours
- Test drove and faults disappeared and full functions became available.
Impact: SUCCESS!
