2006 ML500-Seized Left Front Brake
Hi everyone,
Changed brake pads & rotors on all 4 wheels about a year ago. A few days ago, I noticed the front wheel brake has seized; vibration at about 50 mph, brake smell, and most of all the high heat felt on the wheel hub. It was frightening. So I disassembled the front brake. When I pushed on the brake pedal a few times one piston was pushed out easily, but the other one did not budge at all. Please see picture. Do you think the seized piston can be rebuilt or should I replace the entire caliper at this stage. Thank you for your insight.

Remanufactured brake calipers for both sides are probably less than $150. I think thats the answer. It'll cost you the same to rebuild one yourself and this way you're good for the next 20 years.
Not new MB's, but they're probably originals that have been remanufactured and they're a simple part.
