I figured it out. Push that black tab in with your fingers and pull it towards you, it should release (circled in red). To remove the fuses with the wires you simply pull up on them with a little bit of force (yellow arrows). The three red wires that connect to the left of the device you can unscrew with a socket. Larger red power wire that connects to the middle of the device also gets unscrewed with a socket.

I've been going through the electrical system looking for corrosion. I've been having parasitic drain issues. I cleaned the can under the passenger seat and it cured my "running light" inside the headlight issue. I've found the data link connector can have this issue as well. I've pulled the driver seat and have the carpet pulled back. Gonna finish removal and inspect it, clean it and hope it works lol

Wish you the best of luck with that. I had what I deemed a parasitic draw as well. Car had sluggish starting for about 6 months. Went thru all of the fuses with a multimeter and nothing of note. New gel battery and aux battery as well 1 year before and posting 12.6V consistently. Come to find out that I had two problems: 1. I had changed out the puddle lights in the bottom of front doors so that when they opened, they iluminated a MB logo. The passenger side went out and I never knew it until wifey mentioned it to me. For whatever reason, the light actually works but the connection is very intermittent so that may have been drawing energy. I put the OEM light back in and it works fine. Not certain how much drain this might have caused but it's a thought. 2. My difficulty starting ends up having been the starter. Two weeks ago it finally bit the bullet and had to be replaced. New starter and the car starts like a champ and no longer exhibits any symptoms of a parasitic draw. So there you have it. Could have been both issues combining or just the starter. Guess I won't know for certain unless in the next 6 months I notice difficulty starting in which case I'll go hunting for a draw somewhere else.
