Radiator Fan Fuse 101 15amp - keeps blowing
- keeps blowing fuse #101 (15amp) leading to loss of fan (that i found out later), loss of turbo & "coolant - check workshop" +eng light on dash.
long story short, as i was away from home one fine afternoon from a trip to the Chemist, my "coolant - check workshop" + eng light + limp turbo, was cursed upon me
> i checked coolant lvl, & temp all ok, so decided to bring it home (up a mountain range!). got overheat alarm 100m from top, and straight pulled over/switch car off,... pressurized steaming from hoses, cap off coolant reservoir boiled over for 2 or 3mins after stop
got it back home, & dr google found > check fuse 101 15amp - which i found was blown, and did a mini jump for joy that it was a simple blown fuse.... (yeah right.....)
> new 15amp back in 101. turbo back, "check workshop" msg gone.
>using Icarsoft MB 3, was able to test & operate fan under actuation test, all looked ok, fan working
> short drive, alarm back up, fuse 101 blown again
> tried 20amp and repeat of above, blown.
i have done the best i can to find a clear answer online about where to next with diagnose or probable causes, though:
>damaged wiring",
>bad fan motor ( was working under test actuation (with intact fuse, ie 5 mins variable test operation did not blow fuse)), so i have doubts about that
> or, ECU need replacing, which i am feeling very pale, about.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated & Thankyou
