Your thoughts please; is there anything strong enough on the front of the W164 / front subframe to attach a front tow bar to given likely trailer nose weight load of c140kg plus horizontal push/pull effort? (Am moving trailers up to 3 tons).
I currently successfully use an old W163 ML350 with both rear and front tow bars, the latter being bolted to the front chassis bumper bar for moving heavy boat trailers. However, the 163 is getting old, I'd prefer air suspension to make life easier and want to stay with the Mercedes AWD system if at all possible as when using low range there's no risk of transmission windup on hard surfaces unlike Jeeps etc. Or would a GL be a better bet?
