Where to get old style replacement smart key

So clumsy me dropped one of my smart keys for my W164 ML320 and I would like to get a replacement.

However, all the replacement keys, both OEM and aftermarket replicas are the new style with individual buttons and the triangular panic button.

I'd like to get the one that matches the original one that came with my vehicle, the chrome key with the oval panic button - does anyone know where I can purchase an unused one of these that can be programmed or it's out of production and impossible?

Have you tried the dealer? That style is not really that old. The dealer is really your only option since it needs to be cut and programmed. If you don't need the physical part, @BenzNinja may be able to do the programming for you.

What do you mean that you dropped it? Off a boat? In the toilet? Do you still have it? Dropping it should not break it. They ain't cheap! You should check your car insurance to see if it is covered.

Yes, and they only have the newer version of this smartkey style that's slightly more angular on the sides, triangular panic button, and individual buttons, see the image below. This is not what I want.

The one with the oval panic button, if I recall correctly, are from vehicles between 2007 and 2010

When I said I dropped it, I meant it fell out of my pocket and it's gone

A couple of years ago, I thought I lost my key to my 2004 SL500 and ordered a new one through the dealer. (Of course, I found it after I ordered a new one.). That was the all plastic one with no chrome and they were able to get it. They're telling you the one for your car is no longer available? That sounds like BS to me. I would call a different dealer or contact MB corporate where you are at.

Actually, that was pretty similar to my incident as I ended up finding the lost key which was in the trunk of another vehicle. I did call numerous dealers and they all said the older style keys aren't available; would I need to give the specific part number?
